    @d97jes – Thanks for starting your own topic!

    What details are you seeing under Gallery > Overview … Server Settings?

    Also, have you checked for any plugin conflicts, or a possible conflict with your current theme?

    @d97jes – Your current memory usage is very high compared to the memory limit shown in your settings. This is easily checked if this is part of the issue by getting that memory limit raised to something along the lines of perhaps 256?

    @snopy81 – Please start your own topic. Just to start your usages and limits are much different so there are likely other items that make your issue unique as well.

    Thanks!

    I have increased the memory limit but still the same problem.

    @d97jes – Great job on raising the memory limit. Have you checked for conflicts with other plugins?

    Since I did not want to test too much on my live site I made a duplicate. The dublicate, which is identical, works perfect…!? It is on the same webhost account at bluehost (instead of benny-jessica.com/benny-jessica/ the duplicate is located under benny-jessica.com/testversion/). I have double checked the server settings and they too are identical.

    @d97jes – Unfortunately the troubleshooting really needs to be done where the issue is happening. Everything may seem the same but there must be something different for there to be an issue.

    I made a backup which was un-packed in a sub-folder on the same webhotel account. Can it be a setting on the actual library where the photogalleries are saved? I am not sure in which folder they are located?

    (@photocrati)

    @d97jes – I really couldn’t say where the differences may be. You can try running the Reset Option under Gallery > Other Options and then clearing the image cache under Gallery > Other Options > Miscellaneous but that will not make any difference if one of your other plugins has different settings than what the working instance is using.

    Those should be rechecked as well.

    (@d97jes)

    I did the reset and clearing as suggested. No result.

    I deactivated all plugins and changed theme to the standard one. Activated NextGen but still the same problem with creating and/or uploading photos into the galleries.
    e.g. It has nothing to do with the other plugins.

    Since it works fine when I set up a new site within the same hosting account I can only think of one of the following problems:
    * folder setting
    * database issue
    * memory limit

    I don’t know how to proceed… ??

    Thread Starter d97jes

    (@d97jes)

    When I go to WPML Sting translation I can see that NextGen has created a new string for each gallery for each time I have tried to upload a new image. However the gallery is not there when I go to Manage Galleries.

    @d97jes – I am not familiar with “WPML Sting” so I do not know what exactly you are referring to with “NextGEN has created a new string”.

    As to the other possibilities; yes, those may be the case.

    Folder permissions should be inherited from /wp-content/ and be 0755 and 0644 respectively for folders and files.

    Database … possibly the WordPress database user does not have *ALL* privileges.

    Memory limit, we generally recommend at least 128MB but prefer 256MB.

    All of these you should be able to have your web host easily check.

    (@d97jes)

    Which are the folder that I should check permissions on? E.g. where are all the photo folders located?

    Plugin Contributor photocrati

    (@photocrati)

    @d97jes

    Folder permissions should be inherited from /wp-content/ and be 0755 and 0644 respectively for folders and files.

    The default location for the “gallery” folders would be under /wp-content/gallery/ … this is where you need to ensure the permissions are set correctly.

    Thanks!
