NextGen Gallery, Where is the albums page?

I’m really starting to feel like I might be retarded. I installed the NextGen gallery plugin and have it all set up and have uploaded a couple photos. I see the random pic in the widget in the sidebar, but how do I get to the main album page?

I see the wp-content/gallery folder with my albums in it, but its all just image files, nothing to display it. I read this in the readme.txt:

For a album : **[album=id,extend]** or **[album=id,compact]**

Example : https://nextgen.boelinger.com/album/

Except, I don’t know what the hell that means. I go to my_site/album/ and I get a 404 error. Where do I put the album id? Can someone please put me out of my misery?
