[NextGen Gallery ] WP Comment System Question

I’ve upgraded to WP 3.1.2.
I installed NextGen Gallery, great plugin BTW.

But, I’ve run into a problem and now i have a question if something is possible.

I have my homepage which lists recent posts. There is also a link to view the entire post which reveals a large image, long description, and the gallery from Nextgen Gallery that i’ve added to my content box in the post. Below that is a comment box.

I’ve set my gallery so it doesn’t open the images in a new window. IF i leave a comment on the post page, the comment shows up on all of the pages for this gallery.

I would like my post page that shows all of the thumbnails for that gallery to show all of the comments for all of the photos for this gallery (which this is what it does now, so we are good there.)

I also want it to, when the user clicks on one thumbnail and they get taken to the single photo page, i want only the comments for that photo to show, not all of them for the entire gallery.

I understand what the problem is. Comments are related by postID and all of these photos either have the same postID or they don’t have a postID.

So is there anyway to get it to assign comments to each photo and assign each comment to the same gallery that the photos belong too?
