NextGEn Import not working

the point is, the import option doesn’t even appear. If I call “add Gallery/Images” the Upload Images section appears but none of the others (like zip or directory that I know from pictures only).
This happens in the dashboard menu as well as when using the menu directly form a page editor.
Using the upload option today even killed my firefox-session. So something seems not to be right here.

@bschaich – Can you try another browser? Although extremely rare, there have been (one or two?) cases where a browser add-on has caused issues with NextGEN Gallery.

Also, a screen shot of the Gallery > Add Gallery / Images page may be helpful (one of the ATP should mimic the look so it may not be necessary but definitely provide one if they are different).

You might consider a Bug Report (https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/ … please reference this topic) if things are getting too involved to continue in the forums.

Try this solution that worked for me on another issue that Cais has suggested.

Add this into your wp-config.php file

define('NGG_IMPORT_ROOT', dirname(__FILE__) . '/');

Let me know how you go.

Sorrry, last tip did not help.

Something new coming up now: I now tried to upload additional fotos and suddenly I get “Could not write to file. Please check filesystem permissions.” message.
But there are fotos there I did upload before the last update…
And pretty sure I am the admin of the system.

meanwhile I follow up with a general problem that involves WP, my hoster, and file permissions. I’m convinced the nextgen problem was there before, but since there is trouble now it doesn’t make sense to check the NG details…
