Just a heads up. For 8 years my NextGen gallery path has been the same.

This morning, I added a new gallery and it suddenly appeared in the root of the site, causing a conflict with the post appearing correctly (the gallery name was the same as the slug name resulting in a 403 error).

This was fixed by adding the path into what was a blank box under Other Options -> Image Options -> Where would you like galleries stored?

Deleting the previous gallery and recreating it.

Imagining other people are experiencing or will experience this issue, so posting the resolution here.

  • Hello @johnny_n,

Thank you for sharing this solution with the rest of the community.
One workaround to this particular issue it’s to reset the plugin settings.
But of course, we do recommend creating a full backup first.
That should reset the path to the default value, and then you can check if the galleries have the correct path.

Again, thank you so much for sharing.
