NextGEN Magento

  • Hi there, thank you for this great plugin.
    I am building an e-commerce website on Magento CMS. I have integrated a WP Blog with the magento system using the FISHPIG extension. In magento i can see the WP page on which i have the NextGEN gallery; so far so good. However when you try to preview the gallery images the lightbox doesnt work
    On the fishpig page i found that your plugin is fully compatible with the extension and it will work within magento.
    Is there something i dont know?

    @damian0505 – Does NextGEN Gallery work within WordPress only (as in without any Magento integrations included/active)?

    Hi, yes it works perfectly fine within the WP page; than it displays the gallery with the same layout on the Magento page but there the lightbox doesnt work. I have tried many different settings of the NextGEN but nothing seems to be working…

    @damian0505 – ok, thanks. Can you please check what your settings are under Gallery > Other Options > Lightbox Effects? You may need to adjust what circumstances the lightbox will be applied to. Try enabling it for all images attached to image files at first, and see if you can tweak it if necessary.

    Well, i did check all the available options but with no effect. I was wrong saying that the gallery is displayed correctly on the magento side too. What was there wasnt the NextGEN gallery, this was the defoult WP gallery shortcode.
    Now if you look at the:

    you will see just one image which on the WP page looks like this:

    It seems like the fishpig doesnt bring any CSS or JS from the WordPress. I have no idea why and where to look for the answers. Thank you for your interest anyway.

    @damian0505 – I would suggest going back to the “fish pig” author to see if they can offer any assistance. It could very be the CSS and JS not being used as the root cause of why your integration is having issues.
