NGG 2.0. is slowing our site massively down

Same problem here. it’s terrible. Pages take forever to load.

I was looking at the Options file, and I see several lines of these :

Not sure if it was Nextgen 2 that wrote these,but if it is, then not good …

Do you thinkt that it has something to do with the slowdonws?

I don’t know … anyway, we all can see that version 2 has resulted in all kinds of problems … let’s just wait and see … I’m still on the stable previous version of course … I did upgrade to the latest WordPress, so fsar, only 1 problem on my theme, and which they fixed within 1 day …

Still no resolution for this and my sites are experiencing errors because of it. Large galleries fail to load at all due to database timeouts.

I had the same issue. I first didnt know it was Nextgen that was making the site slow. I installed different plugins assuming my website was being hacked. Then i deactivated all the plugins and activated one after the another to know the culprit. I was really not happy seeing Nextgen plugin doing this.
I then rolled back to a previous version instead of waiting for an update as i make my bread on galleries.

I have the same issue. Since the 2.0 update my page loads very slow. I never upload files larger than 1920X1080 and use small thumbnails. My page loaded in 2-3 seconds before the 2.0 update.
Just ran a P3 Plugin Performance Profiler test, Nextgen stands for more than 95% of the load time – with sometimes over 25 seconds in load time.

I have no idea how to solve this, i will follow this thread and hope somebody can help ??

I checked with my provider, everything is fine on the server side they say.

I haven’t found a fix for it either, so I’m running an old version on my sites until I find a better plugin. It’s a shame, I really liked this one while it lasted.

I also discovered that the gallery slows down WordPress complete on godaddy, i ran the P3 profiling plugin and nextgen uses about 96% of the resources, when i disable the plugin, site runs fine.

Any fix for this yet?
