• I installed the old NextGEN Gallery version (pre-2.0) on a site hosted with Websynthesis using their NGINX server systems and had no known issues. Then after upgrading to the latest build of the plugin I began noticing at completely random occurrences I would get 404 pages with a small “nginx” note at the bottom.

I contacted Websynthesis support who suggested disabling NextGEN plugin and cited the link to the “open letter” on the NextGEN site. Sure enough, after disabling the plugin I stopped getting the 404 pages with the nginx at the bottom.

I was hoping this latest version 2.0.27 would fix the issue but nope still thing. Back to disabled.

Unfortunately, I really need this plugin running! Has anyone else experienced this who can help me out? Is it an issue with NGINX?

My site developers suggested it was a load issue with the hosts bandwidth but I’m not convinced that’s the issue since Websynthesis is a premium hosting provider. Unless perhaps I’m wrong and it was never the plugin at all… but since disabling it seamed to resolve the issue I can’t foresee it being the host.

Can you share the message on that nginx note?

Can you also share how to reproduce this 404 issue on a site with default theme and with no other plugins activated?

I’m not the plugin author. I’m just curious, if I could help.
