NGINX + Pass Thru = No webp background images

    Hi Mateusz,

    First of all, thank you for this brilliant plugin. I’m using it on all of my sites and it definitely helped me tons. Works great with WP Rocket+Cloudflare as well.

    Recently, I’ve switched my preferred host who is using NGINX, so I’m using the Pass Thru method.
    The issue here is, that the images in the webp format are served fine when in HTML (img or picture tags), but not when they are loaded as background images via CSS.

    Do you maybe know a quick fix to this, or know what should I tell the host to change for this feature to work?

    Hello @jurez123,

    Thanks for your message.

    Pass Thru mode does not offer such possibilities. In this situation, I recommend using the via .htaccess mode. If you are using an Nginx server, see the plugin FAQ for the configuration for the Nginx server. This is the best solution.
