• This plugin tries allowing you. It comes with nice features like

    • URL-Rewrite style
    • Nice translation interfaces
    • Theme translation

Unfortunately, especially the latter doesn’t work. Saving changed .mo-files onyl works partially. It seems, the plugin has problems analysing the template (I used the Quark template) files and storing them back.

So you can translate your posts and pages very nicely, but you cannot translate the front end UI labels. Therefor I would not recommend it for productive usage.

    Thanks for review.
I would appreciate more information ??
Is this https://www.ads-software.com/themes/quark the theme used?
What do you mean by “you cannot translate the front end UI labels”?

    Thanks

    Hi Alessandro,

thanks for your quick response. Yes, the theme is quark as mentioned.

With “you cannot translate the front end UI labels” I ment the following:

    A. Only a subset of the frontend labels are displayed. If you e.g. take another tool like e.g. Codestyling Localisation, you will see that there are many more text parts that need translation also in the frontend than what currently is offered by Ceceppa Multilingua.

    B. Translations are not saved. For which reason ever, when I enter a theme translation and try saving it, the translation is not stored.

    C. Existing translations by other tools are not initially read into the UI. If you have translated the .mo file already (or parts of it) and Ceceppa Multilingua reads it, all the translations get lost (or are at least not displayed).

Of course I have to differentiate: I cannot recommend Ceceppa Multilingua for theme translation in productive use.

Translate your theme is the last features added and it is a bit bugged :(.

    A. Fixed in 1.3.7, I found only first translatable string for each file :(.

    B. The plugin need that language directory of your theme is writable… What error was displayed?

    C. Strange… The plugin load existings .mo file from language path of your theme for recover translated strings.
The filename of .mo files must be in this format: {locale}.mo, for examples: it_IT.mo, en_EN.mo
Filenames withouth this structure will be ignored…
