• The plugin has the potential to be really useful, but my experience with it was not so great and I’ve uninstalled it from my site.

The API was easy to generate thanks to Google’s hand-holding instructions.

However, when I tried to use the widget, I got an error message that the map couldn’t load and to check the JS console. No thanks.

I would also like the option to show ZERO reviews, and only display the business name and star rating like the Yelp Widget Pro that I use often. It’d be nice to have the 2 widgets display compactly in the same footer column.

I’ll check back on this plugin in a few months in hopes that the features have been expanded and bugs worked out.

    Hi there,

Appreciate your feedback. The issue with the widget is well documented with our documentation on creating your API key:
    https://wordimpress.com/documentation/google-places-reviews/creating-your-google-places-api-key/

We created that doc because while the process for creating API keys has greatly improved over the past year, the details of how keys interact with your website need detailed explanation which Google doesn’t provide.

I think your feature request regarding showing NO reviews is interesting. We can make that happen with some custom CSS no problem. That’s what our support is for.

Would love to help you reach your goals with Google Reviews, we’re available for help and help everyone who asks.

    Thanks!
