• The WP Google Map plugin works pretty good. It has some clunky features and I’ve experienced a bit slow response on support. Maybe they were out of the office for the two days I waited for an answer. Still no answer at the time of this review. At first they were great. Giving them the benefit of the doubt. Clunky features are the conflict between trying to use the Store Locator function and the Category Filter at the same time. Store Locator seems to override the Category Filter and the Categories won’t show if you’re using the Store Locator function. Maybe it’s a matter of these two functions trying to use the same space. Both functions need a location code added to put these features where you’d like to see them appear – top, bottom, left, right, etc.

Need more control and adjustment features for the Info window function. Info windows need to show all the info you enter without having to use the Expand window function. Need a way to lock and unlock the map so it won’t move if you happen to cursor over it while you are entering data for the markers. Also, if it’s possible, to make the map snap back to it’s original position on the live site after you’ve viewed one of the info windows you’ve selected. Right now it moves when you click or hover over a marker and then leaves an awkward empty space above the map. You have to click and drag the map to rearrange it to see your markers again.

I know it takes a lot of work to create such a nice app, but these are my observations. Since I bought the Pro version I’d like to be able to see a bit more refinement for the money I spent.

  • Hi Taylor

Thank you for getting in touch, and thank you sincerely for the feedback, we appreciate it.

I’m one of the senior developers on this project, I’d like to address all these points for our upcoming release, I believe most of these issues have been ironed out already, but I’d be very interested in hearing your thoughts on our current beta if you’re open to trying it out?

Could I possibly contact you directly regarding this matter?

    Kind regards
    – Perry
