• I tried WordPress Tooltips for mouseover-information for the photo’s I put in the header of my website as I was adviced in this topic.

But I have two problems with it:

    1. sometimes the mouse over shows information about a picture, when I didn’t give that picture a name (I think it’s the name of the hyperlink, but in this case it shows, and in this case it doesn’t). So it looks like the picture of ‘Tour’ has the Tooltip and the picture of ‘Giro’ doesn’t. But I didn’t do anything different.

    2. I don’t like the look (to big) of the mouseover from Tooltips, I like the smaller and well known mouseover (like on the picture of ‘Giro’) more. So my question is: can I get rid of alle the big mouseovers and get the smaller mouseovers for the names of only the pictures of places I show in my headers?

[Moderator Note: No bumping, thank you.]

Im a bit lost, both of those images the tooltips look the same size. The default tooltips like those are just generated by the browser. So for styling side of things they are identical is that what you want to change?

Now onto the tool tips you should always use the alt field for photos, to describe them “click here for more info on the 2014 gyro contest” for instance. It helps for SEO and if you get into the habit of doing its not that time consuming.

    Hi matt94gt,

    Thanks for your help!

In both pictures there’s the default mouseover, but that’s because the pictures are clickable. It refers to the hyperlink. In picture 1 there’s also the big mouseover from the Tooltip-plugin. And I don’t want that.

Now I deactivated Tooltip, so I don’t have the big mouseovers anymore.

So far so good, but I activated Tooltip because I wanted a mouseover on the pictures in the header, because I want the website-visitor to see from which place in the world the picture is. There’s no default mouseover on those pictures, because the header-pictures are not clickable with a hyperlink.

So how can I get a nice and small mouseover (just like the default of the browser) on the pictures in my header?
