nice plugin, but a tad beta-y

I like this plugin. Does a nice job of displaying posts from a category with lots of options for thumbnails and excerpts in a sidebar, specifying classes, etc… A few refinements are lacking which I attribute it to be fairly new – for example, it accepts the category slug but not the category id. The developer seems to be actively involved in making improvements so I’m optimistic that once some more feedback comes in those issues will be resolved.
