This is almost a good plugin – and it sorta works after you understand how to do it that took me only minutes on the forum, not from your instructions.

BUT… After configuring it, my site is missing some things. A group was added and a user assigned to it. Then, a post and a page was set to allow that group. Yes, I clicked “update” to ensure the post and page were updated.

I logged in as the user and cannot edit the POST. All I see is “View” for all posts, including the one that this group is assigned to.

The PAGES link is missing in the left menu although this user should be allowed to edit a PAGE.

The parent POST shows the lock in the list. Confusing especially when other POSTs show no lock.

And, the live website denies users to pages that were protected. I thought your plugin affected only the admin area, not the live website?????

Hum…. what gives? And, what gives with the sporadic support? your plugin is almost there with a little tweaking. I am so glad to test it before making a purchase. If it worked, I would send $$ to you to buy a beer.

If you fix these within a week, I’ll change this to a 5-star review.

  • As the author is not responding so much in this plugin I can tell you that plugin drives nothing on the admin section its only for the front end. So if you are looking for have some restriction on admin side then I think you should use other plugin like role scope or similar where you can set capabilities for different user roles. We have used Page Security now for over a year and its working great front end but support in general is very bad (even author have stated that he is not reading so often :-().

Be aware of that this plugin might be broken when WP 4.4 now is released as Term data has been changed in this version and this plugin is build with some codes that might not work (have not tested).
