    Simple Press broke our setup.
“There has been a critical error on your website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.”

Simple Press has professionally created website but the product itself in our case was crap. Perhaps it may work, or not (like in our case).

Please note that this is just one experience. But remember to take backup before installation…

    Hi:

I’m really sorry to hear that things didn’t work out of the box for you. However, we haven’t seen any support request from you. In the time it took to write this review trashing the plugin you could have written a short message asking for help.

Why not ask for support instead of just leaving the lowest rating? Support is provided for free on www.ads-software.com support forum which means you have absolutely no reason not to use it.

An error like this is usually caused by a conflict so it would have been nice if you had allowed us the opportunity to walk you through the conflict identification process.

With free plugins, there are certain best practices that an end end user can employ in order to give feedback to the developer. Here are two good sources about these:

    https://chrislema.com/theres-wrong-way-give-plugin-feedback-wordpress-org
    https://pippinsplugins.com/how-to-leave-a-good-bad-review/

Regardless, thank you for trying out our product.

Well, I can say that we do not have time to play with installation cases. There are simple reasons for this:

    1. Fixing installation errors needs time.
    2. Time is money. We cant wait, it should work instantly.
    3. Users cant wait, they want results without hassling.
    4. The result is unsure.
    5. It was one option with other options, and Simple Press had poorest result.
    6. Other user feedback supported our decision.
    7. Simple Press high pricing model leads high quality expectations. It was big disappointment, the product was poor.

Based on these facts we faced, what do you think how many stars we should give to Simple Press? I think our first assessment was polite based on the Simple Press performance we received.

    Hi:

<< what do you think how many stars we should give to Simple Press?>>

The answer to this question is simple – you shouldn’t have written a review in the first place. You didn’t spend any real time with the product. If you’re not going to invest the time necessary to get a plugin working properly then don’t spend even more time writing a review for which there is only a single data point in your experience.

WordPress has over 10,000 plugins a themes which means there are hundreds of millions of ways in which they can be combined. Thus, conflicts are a common occurrence. If you’re not interested in spending the time to figure out the conflicts or investing the time to really get something working, why trash it in a public forum instead of just moving on?

If everyone wrote a one star review for every conflict they encountered with a WordPress plugin these forum review boards would be filled with thousands more one star reviews across all the plugins.

<<Other user feedback supported our decision.>>

I am not sure I understand this – what decision did this support? Looking at other one star reviews you can see that none of them had to do with installation issues. In fact, most of them just seem annoyed about the business model or that something wasn’t 100% free. So not quite sure how this factored into the decision to write a one star review.

<<Simple Press high pricing model leads high quality expectations>>

Our pricing is actually quite reasonable. Have you seen what other people ask for forum software? Some charge thousands of dollars per site – checkout the comparison here: https://simple-press.com/compare-simplepress-with-wpforo-asgaros-bbpress-and-more/

I’m really sorry you had a negative experience but an installation conflict shouldn’t be the sole basis for a review.

    Thanks.

I did enough. We saw that it did not work and it broke our setup.
What do you think how much time we should spend time with a that kind of product? We lost several expensive working hours just solving the problems what your product occurred.

I think it is good to inform other users that this kind of things may happen with your product. Sophisticated users understand, that this was single case. But they are aware that this kind of things may happen with your product. Despite your products are so much more expensive than rivals and the outcome was this what we got. When you ask high price, you must remember that high price includes high expectations in customers mind.

It is up to other users, what do they think about Simple Press. Our assessment is one star and it is based on our experiences, it is not the opinion of the product seller.
