@dydyt I’m interested to learn more and to help test. I tried creating a 2,000-word post just now and didn’t have any trouble working with that amount of text. I used WordPress 5.0 and just paragraph blocks in my test and worked on Firefox 63.0.3 on macOS 10.13.6.

Can you tell me a little about your setup? What OS and browser are you using? Is the content you’re having trouble with mainly text or does it also have a lot of other kinds of media or embeds? It may also be relevant to know a list of your active plugins.

Note: just because I couldn’t see the problem in my own testing on a first pass, doesn’t mean the problem isn’t there. It just means I need more information to figure out why it is slow in your case!

The plugin makes everything worse for people who create 1000+ or even 2000+ words per blog or article. If you can use it to make 2,000 word post doesn’t mean that others can.

We want simplicity and the classic editor gives us that.
I for example only use simple headings, normal roboto text, sometimes a youtube video and rarely insert pictures into posts. And now instead of doing all of this with one click I have to do additional two or three and still won’t get it right.
Also, how do I even use the Text option in a post? Was looking it for 10 minutes.

Just writing a post with gutenberg is a nightmare, even the writing box looks small and hideous. And I don’t want to add new blocks for new paragraphs. Simple ENTER is just fine, ok?

Listen to your users and delete this abomination from the core of WordPress. I don’t want adding plugins to disable a “feature” that I nor millions of other uses did not ask for!

Fair enough! If you don’t mind telling me a bit more about your setup, then I can try some additional testing.

There are two ways. One is to click the More menu (three dots) on the block itself and then select the “Edit in HTML” option. Another is to More menu (three dots) in the top toolbar at the far right and select the “Code Editor” option or press Cmd+Opt+Shift+M or Ctrl+Alt+Shift+M.

And I don’t want to add new blocks for new paragraphs. Simple ENTER is just fine, ok?

Simple Enter still works. It may also help you to use the Top Toolbar mode. You can find it in the More menu at the very top right in the main editor toolbar. That will move the toolbar from around each block to the top of the page instead.
