• I’m trying to update to the latest version of Ninja forms, but afterwards I get a notification that the form notifications need to be updated too. I click on it, but as far as I can tell it just gets stuck there. Been sitting way longer than “several minutes”. I’ve tried deleting the plug-in and doing a fresh install, but it just returns to the same thing. Any pointers on what I’m doing wrong?

  • I would suggest to use a FTP client such as FileZilla and connecting to the server where your site resides. Once you download a fresh copy of the latest version of Ninja Forms, navigate within the server’s directory tree to wp-content -> plugins then overwrite the Ninja Forms folder with the fresh copy of Ninja Forms you downloaded.

Well, now I’ve tried removing the entire folder manually via FTP and upload a fresh download of the plug-in. It shows up properly in the panel, but right away when I try start using it we’re back to the “Please wait” thing again. Although, this time around it says “Updating form database”. The notifications about upgrades remain the same. Yea, if no one has any thoughts I’ll probably just bail on this and look for something else.

I would then recommend you to contact the Ninja Forms team directly about this issue: https://ninjaforms.com/contact/

True. I had a bit of a black-out – I thought I was contacting them when I clicked “Support”; blanked out on the fact that that leads to the forum. Anyhows, thanks for taking the time to give some input!

No problem! Hope your issue gets resolved when you contact them! ??

I have a client with the same problem too.

A side note: WordFence has assigned a staff member to answer questions on their WordPress forum. Maybe this will become a trend! It’s true that this forum is not very searcheable within a specific plugin, but I like answers in public forums because each question has quite a few variations that can be discussed.

@nora, I am not working for Ninja Forms. I am just really a big fan of Ninja Forms and have a lot of experience working with it so consequently, it is out of my kind heart that I want to help other Ninja Forms customers. ??

That’s really great of you! In general, I think that Ninja Forms is great too! But, as this thread shows, they don’t really participate in WordPress except for as a delivery system. It appears that there is no answer to the original question above. That is two of us who have tried re-installing, but still cannot get that process to work. And, Ninja Forms is quite mum about it.

I have sent them a message through their website. If they answer, I will post the answer here for others.
