    Hiya guys.

I’ve tried to update two different WordPress installations with the latest version of Ninja Forms and in both cases nothing appears to have changed.

They both display 2.9.58 regardless of whether I update automatically using the in-built WordPress update function or if I download the zip file from the repository.

I’ve checked the version number in ninja-forms.php and that is definitely showing as v3.0 so I’m a little unsure of what to do next, any thoughts?

    Thanks

    Phil

  • exactly same problem here, whatever method used to update!
(new version installs fine on “fresh” new sites)
Thanks in advance for your support.

I’ve not got as far as trying an install on a fresh site without any previous version of Ninja Forms already in place. I’ll perhaps give that a try shortly and hopefully there’s a simple fix. Perhaps a form export, complete database clearance of ninja forms and then a clean install followed by import.

Seems a bit long winded to me though : )

New installs will immediately use the new 3.0 UI.

Can either of you reach out to us at https://ninjaforms.com/contact/? We would love to see why you aren’t seeing the notice so we can fix that for everyone else.

You need to go to Forms -> System status. At the very bottom is a button to perform the update..

i’ve tried all possibilities you described, unfortunately none worked…
As James L. suggested, i’ll contact them directly.

Go to Forms > Settings > Advanced and click on the Update & Convert Forms button.

While this is true and you can do that, if you want us be able to fix this, submit a support ticket and we might be able to fix it for everyone.

Thanks for the replies guys but like Philippe, I’m not seeing an ‘update’ button at the bottom of the ‘system status’ page. Thanks Philippe for picking this up and contacting them directly and it does sound is if you and I are experiencing the exact same problems.

James, if you’d like me to contact you too let me know.

    Phil,

    Perfect thanks Philippe. I can’t believe that I hadn’t spotted that! : )

All seems fine now and I’ll be able to crack-on now, thanks again.

    Hi James,

“Go to Forms > Settings > Advanced and click on the Update & Convert Forms button”

    I’ve upgraded to v 3.0.19 but can’t see this under Forms > Settings > Advanced ?

    Thanks,

@gvanto if you are not seeing the update, then I would suggest that you contact support: https://ninjaforms.com/contact

    Hey Kyle,

Trying to upgrade from 2.9.7 (quite a big jump) – could it be because of that?

    Thanks

    (@kbjohnson90)

@gvanto Shouldn’t be, but there could be non-compatible add-ons blocking the upgrade.

    @kbjohnson90,

We have Save Progress addon installed too (which is not yet v3.0.19 compatible) … maybe that.

Workaround for now: Export forms in 2.9.7 and re-import in v3, seems to work semi OK (forms appear in list at least) but yeah few tweaks will be required for things to work as normal again

@kbjohnson90 on a sidenote, what would be great is a way to reference form elements by name (rather than _field_{id} where id is a variable. This way programmatically fields can be referenced a lot easier
