• Hey, people.

Nirali Magazine is an online magazine, published monthly, for the modern South Asian American (and Canadian) woman.

Nirali, which means “different” in several South Asian languages, is just that–a different kind of magazine for the modern South Asian American woman. Covering everything from entertainment to politics to style, Nirali combines smart writing, the latest trends and the pulse of South Asian culture in the United States to bring you a monthly online magazine that is completely unique.

I was asked to build a custom WordPress theme for their recently-launched blog, based on a design by their art director, Priya Patel. Please do check it out at https://www.niralimagazine.com/blog/

I’d love to know what you guys think of it.

Also, the online magazine (which will also be powered by WordPress) is going to be relaunched in its new avatar on September 1, 2006. Watch out for that one as well ??

Thanks for reading this, and checking out the site. Let the comments begin!

  • In my opinion I don’t think you’ve got enough contrasting colours to make certain parts stand out enough – the sidebar, for instance, seems to blend in a bit too well.

But the content is easy enough to read.

is the sidebar messed ? or i see it at the bottom after the posts ?

nice altho i do think the visit nirali magazine pink button at the top should be presented as a shelf that drops down to reveal the main site links ??
