I have someone working on one site. He tried to add code but couldn’t. He sent this:

I logged into your dashboard and from the theme editor option, I tries to add my code and then on clicking save, I got an error that I cannot add code through wordpress theme editor.

How do I enable this? Or is it wiser to give FTP access?

If this person knows what he is doing then he should be able to find the source of issue.

Do you trust the person you want to give ftp access?

If you have to, use temporary pass and username. Then change it immediate when done.

He figured it out before I could tell him he should know.

Trust is rare when it comes to my online activities. I get nervous when giving FTP access though in nearly twenty years having websites I’ve never had anyone abuse the privilege of having FTP access. I just wasn’t sure if he could do what needed to be done via the admin area.
