The “No Access” error is normally returned when the Allow uploads to Dropbox when the WordPress user is not logged in option is not checked and the user hasn’t logged in to WordPress to upload the file. In other words, if you’re allowing anonymous users to upload files, that option should be checked.

Can you please verify? I’m happy to look into this further if you’ve done that and you’re still seeing the error.

    Thanks,
    Chris

That wasn’t the issue. I was logged in with an administrator account. Still received “No Access.”

Further, I had checked all of the user levels to be applied to the folder(s), in case that was it.

I installed the update – hoping it might fix this issue as well. It did not.

Trying to troubleshoot this. I changed the setting to “Allow uploads to Dropbox when the WordPress user is not logged in:” — I’m now able to upload.

Seems like a permissions issue of some sort associated with the account or the configuration of the site.

I’m wondering and will be exploring if it’s an interaction with the iThemes Security plugin. Though since the upload is to a dropbox account and not to a WP folder, I’m not sure why the iThemes Security plugin would preclude the upload.

That doesn’t appear to be it. As a user with Editor privileges, the subfolders do not appear as expected. Changing all privileges back to Anonymous/All – subfolders are not available. Permissions overall do not appear to be working.

I’ve done as much testing and troubleshooting as I can do, I think.

    Hi Chris,

I greatly appreciate all your testing and feedback on the problems you’ve experienced. I’ve been trying to recreate your issue with the permissions, and can acknowledge one bug, but not the main one you’ve described.

The bug that I’ve seen is when you “reset” the permissions on a folder to All/Anonymous by just selecting the folder and leaving all roles blank, then that doesn’t seem to work. I will work on a bug fix for that. The way that does work is to select just the “All/Anonymous” role AND the folders you want to apply that to.

    Thanks,
    Chris

I wasn’t sure the iThemes plugin should affect the upload since the upload is to a dropbox account rather than any of the folders within the WP installation. However, to be sure, I deactivated the iThemes Security plugin; that eliminated the issue.

I’m not sure what the interaction is. It may be worth on your end to investigate further and to document compatibility issues with Bligthy and the iThemes plugin.

For me, the issue is resolved though.
