    Hello! This morning I noticed that when I go to my website at: https://www.fragenson.com – I get an error about the date.php file missing. I can ftp into the site and indeed this file is not at the location. I don’t know how this happened and I suspect there may have been an update to WordPress. The version listed in CPanel is 4.8.1. I noticed others having similar problems, but not quite the same as they are related to different files.

    One of the suggestions I found to be common was to reset the plug-in, however I have no idea how to do this outside the dashboard (can’t access it). Yes I am fresh to the amazing world of WordPress! Any help would be appreciated.

    Error at https://www.fragenson.com ::

    Warning: require(/home/fragenso/public_html/wp-includes/date.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/fragenso/public_html/wp-settings.php on line 152

    Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/home/fragenso/public_html/wp-includes/date.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/fragenso/public_html/wp-settings.php on line 152

    It sounds like the 4.8.1 update didn’t go through smoothly. Do a manual update to fix it. https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Updating_WordPress#Manual_Update

    Hello Mr. Stern and thanks for the help!

    I’m trying to do a manual update and I have other issues there, but I think I can get by them with the help of my hosting site.

    In the meantime I see on of the items that must be done to do a manual update is to disable plug-ins. I only wish I knew how. I feel it may be different depending on the setup, but I’m using cpanel a long with the WordPress from hostingfactor.com. Any idea how to disable the plugings?

    Thanks again!

    Rich

    Don’t worry about disabling the plugins.
