• After upgrading from 1.2.2 to 1.2.6.6 the plugin required a database update. When asked if I wanted to reset UAM I choose no. Didn’t want to lose everything. When it asked to update UAM, I choose update network wide.

I didn’t notice a problem right away. Now, though, we realize that we can’t access the files in the wp-content/uploads area. There is .htaccess and .htpasswd files in there, which I assume are blocking members of the UAM from access. We get a prompt to enter a username and password. (Even I get it as admin.)

So I updated from 1.2.6.6 to 1.2.6.7. Same problem.

If I remove the .htaccess and .htpasswd files everyone in the world can directly access those files directly. Not what we want. We use this plugin to make it so only our subscribers have that access.

In UAM settings the Lock Files is set to off. I turned it on. It added a new .htaccess and .htpasswd files. Members of the UAM are still getting login popup. Not what we want. So I changed Lock Files back to off and removed the files.

For now I have the original .htaccess and .htpasswd files back in the directory to protect file access.

What happened? I assume it was the upgrade to 1.2.6.6 but don’t know that for a fact. How do I fix this?
