• Hi Everyone, I have WordPress on my local machine and updated it a few days ago. I now have WordPress 5.2.3. It seemed to remove some of the features that I found helpful.

    I no longer have the bar that’s just above the page you’re editing that allow you to click a button in insert media etc.

    My question(s):
    Can I revert back to the old setting with the new update?
    Is there an option to editing bar back at the top of the page while editing?

    Thanks for any help.

  • You don’t say what version you had before your update to 5.2.3, but the new editor was added in WP 5.0. Is it the admin bar that you are missing? Or is it the way the editor has its tool bar in different places than the old editor? There are a few options you can set in the new editor, but none have to do with the admin bar.

    You can use the old editor by installing the Classic Editor plugin.

    That’s it!!!. Thank you so very much. Seems so much easier to have the old editor around.

    Thank you again for your quick response.
