• I created a “display ads” unit on Google Adsense and then added an Advanced Ads widget containing the information of this unit to the sidebar of my website to show ads. A blue rectangle showed up under the widget title “Google Adsense” in the sidebar. However, no ads were being displayed. Is there anything else I need to do to display ads? Thanks!

    p.s. Someone told me that the blue color is coming from my theme, which is Gazette.

  • Hello there,

    It looks like the blue background is being generated by the theme, but it’s a background colour, as the iframe that powers the ads is sitting on top of that.

    When was the Adsense account created and added specifically? The reason why I ask is because it has been known for these ads to take a while to appear.

    Many thanks.

    @aleone89 Thank you, Adam! The Adsense account was connected to my website about 2 weeks ago. I added the widget to the sidebar 8-10 days ago.

    Got it. I’d recommend contacting their support to learn why the ads aren’t showing, but in the meantime, we can help you remove the blue background if you need that. You can use this under Customize > Additional CSS:

    ins.adsbygoogle {
        background: transparent;
    }

    Hoping it helps!

    @supernovia Thanks you, supernovia! The code you provided removed the background color. I really appreciate your help! I will also contact Google Adsense to learn why ads aren’t showing.
