I am currently trying to access the Advanced tab on Pages to set the NOINDEX to remove the page from search engines (actual pages, not posts). I only want to disable certain pages, not all pages.

On all other areas of the site (products, tags, categories) I can see the Advanced tab and change the setting, but on Pages I cannot. I have checked the setting ‘Security: no advanced settings for authors’ in the Features section, and this setting is set to ‘OFF’. I have googled to try and find answers, but cannot find anything. How can I set the NOINDEX for individual pages without the Advanced tab?

For clarity, when I edit a page and go into Yoast settings for that page I can see the Focus Keyphrase, Google Preview, SEO Analysis, Add Related Keyphrase & Cornerstone Content, but not Advanced.

    Thanks
    Andrew

  • Hi @toofastdriving,

    Thank you for reaching out.

Just to clarify, are you using the latest Yoast SEO version 14.6.1? We ask since we had a recent bug related to the advanced section setting. If you are not on the latest version, please update and check if the issue persists.

If it does, can you please check under Users → Your Profile if the Yoast settings are not disabled? Both Yoast settings should be unchecked.

Hi. I’m using Version 14.16.1 already.

Under ‘Your Profile’ I have a section titled Yoast SEO Settings – there is only 1 setting under this heading:
    Disable SEO analysis
Removes the focus keyphrase section from the metabox and disables all SEO-related suggestions.
    This setting is not checked.

    Thanks
    Andrew

    Hi @toofastdriving,

Thank you for your reply and giving us more information.

If you are on the latest version and you are sure the Disable advanced section is off, and this is only happening on Pages and not other post types, we think this is a plugin or theme conflict on the site.

Can you please check if the same issue persists when Yoast SEO is the only active plugin? You can do this using the Health Check plugin troubleshooting mode which does not affect any other user or site visitor. You can find more information on doing a conflict check here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-check-for-plugin-conflicts/
