    Hello,

I work with a digital marketing agency and we’ve got about 40 sites connected to Google analytics via Google Site Kit.

However, I’m running into an issue with one of our websites.

Site Kit has been working perfectly fine for months, but stopped collecting data last month (June) for some reason. It shows the connection as successful. I can see the UA in the source code and Google Tag Manager. But I’m not seeing any traffic / data in Google Analytics and I can’t get a site visit to trigger in the real-time report.

Looks like this first occurred around the 29th or 30th of May. I checked out records / changelog and we did not make any changes to either the site or Google Analytics at that time.

    I’ve tried the following:
    Clearing cache.
Ensuring Site Kit is corrected to the correct UA / account, property, and view.
Ensuring there are no warning in Google Analytics.
Ensuring there are no filters in Google Analytics.
Ensured WP core and PHP are sufficient / supported versions.
Ensured Site Kit, my theme, and WP core are all up to date.
Resetting Site Kit and re-configuring Analytics.
De-activating, deleting, re-installing, and re-activating the Site Kit plugin.
Disabling and re-enabling the “Let Site Kit place code on your site” setting.
Disabling our caching plugin (WP-Optimize WP Fastest Cache)
    Disabling our security plugin (Wordfence)
Disabling all my Chrome browser extensions one at a time.

All of the above was tested in both a normal tab and an incognito one and while running the real-time traffic report in Google Analytics.

The only thing that I think could potentially be causing this is the fact that we had a coupon engagement event goal script that was setup via Google Tag Manager rather than manually placed in the theme. The Google Implementation Team assisted with this.

UA shows up twice in the source code, once in lines 40-42 and then again further down the page. The instance in lines 40-42 seem to be Google Tag Manager. I’m assuming the one further down the page is Site Kit. Not sure, but this could be creating some sort of conflict?

I am willing to send the client’s website URL in a private message or email, send screenshots, or we can facilitate a screenshare via Google Hangouts.

Please advise as this is an urgent / time sensitive issue!

    Thanks,
    Jarron

@jarron09 Thanks for getting in touch and providing additional context. For this site if you’d like to share your Site Health information we can investigate this further. You can share privately if preferred.

It might be worth also temporarily removing the existing Google Tag Manager implementation before checking your live traffic reporting in Analytics once more. When checking please visit your site from the same browser session as a non logged in user.

Submitted the Site Health Information form.

I see tag manager referenced in the source code…But I don’t see an account related to this particular website in my Google Tag Manager account?

Let me know what you discover, would like to get Analytics back up & running as soon as possible! ??

    Thanks again,
    Jarron

@jarron09 Many thanks for sharing the additional information. I didn’t notice any WordFence or WP-Optimize WP Fastest Cache from looking at your Site Health information. I did notice some other few performance related plugins, for caching and optimization, and a close-requirements.php MU plugin, which I’m unfamiliar with. I also noticed some console errors when checking your site, which may be impacting your analytics reporting.

Can you try and temporarily deactivate the following plugins, which may have features that perform modification to scripts and snippets:
    – Phastpress
    – Asset CleanUp

After performing the above visit this site from a browser incognito window to ensure current traffic and then check your Analytics live traffic report.

Phastpress seemed to be what was creating the conflict! When deactivated, everything functions as intended.

Thanks a ton for your help, have a great rest of your week, and stay safe!

@jarron09 Glad to hear it, many thanks for the update. Be sure to leave the plugin a review now that you can use as expected.
