No analytics data in dashboard

I have the same issue like the two people before raised: connected the plugin to Google (so I can see the client-id and the client-secret and la la la) but going back to the wordpress-dashboard, no data is shown.

But the console shows

Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 ()

for https://content.googleapis.com/analytics/v3/management/accounts and clicking on this link just shows a page telling me

Can you help?

Hi @moody1337 ?? Of course, we’ll make it work! Were you using one of the previous versions before, or you just installed the latest version right away?

Please try to click “unlink” in the settings, then “link” it again. That should probably do it. Then normally everything should always work.

@tigroumeow this was the perfect hint, thanks a lot ?? Looks like basically I was just dumb and missed to also activate the Analytics-API in the library-section …

Adding to this thread as I am having a similar issue but believe I know the cause (just not sure how to fix it).

For some reason when I set up my site, I did so in a subdirectory of the public_html folder. So when I went to Google Analytics and created the app for the OAuth ID, your plugin told me to use https://mysite.com/folder for the authorized Javascript origin but Google didn’t like that and wouldn’t accept a subfolder. If I use https://mysite.com, Analytics data is empty in the dashboard.

This may be a site-specific/Google-specific weird interplay that can’t be solved. Really love how light your plugin is compared to the annoying one I deleted…

If you have any thoughts, I would love to hear them.

Hi @eoren1,

The Authorized JS origin is simply your domain, you don’t need the path or anything, so don’t worry.

The Authorized redirect URIs is important though and should be the full path. Normally, the plugin should give you the right one to use.

What happens when you set it like this and try to link? Is it successful or is there an error on the Google side?

It is an issue on the Google side – it will not accept a subfolder. If you had a quick solution for that, it would have been great, otherwise I would have you leave it.

My mistake for creating this site in a subfolder (no clue why I did that)
