No Authors listed in column in post or page admin lists

    No authors are showing on admin list “all posts” page or “pages” page. I have tried deactivating plugins one by one. When I look at the code (firebug) for the table entry it contains:

    <td class="author column-author">
<a href="edit.php?post_type=post&author=1"></a>
</td>

    Obviously this is not visible in browser. Does this help shed any light on the problem I might have? The worst thing is that I am not sure when this first happened.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    Thank you esmi. It was the TweetMeme Follow button plugin (which the client installed and I had ignored for some reason).
