No auto tax calculation

  • even with jetpack installed and connected, the tax option enabled, prices being set to “exclusive of tax” i still have to tax calculation at checkout.

    Any suggestions?

    If I understand it correctly, you are using WooCommerce Services with Jetpack to get automated tax rates and want to display tax exclusive of tax on the shop page as well as checkout – correct?

    Automated tax will always display prices exclusive of tax on both those pages. Could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status to make sure your site is properly configured? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status.
    Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.? Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

    Please share with us a screenshot of your tax settings in WooCommerce > Settings > Tax as well. I recommend https://snag.gy for easily sharing screenshots.

    There is just no automatic calculation.
    “exclusive of tax” setting is recommended, i was just giving you as much info as possible.

    Thanks for that status report although it looks like the tax settings screenshot was committed – would you mind sharing that once more?

    Also, have you double-checked to make sure the product itself is set to being taxable?

    That is becuse i have input values manually.
    The problem is not fixed…..
    There is still no checkbox for auto tax calculation using services and jetpack.

    To better understand what’s happening, I’d like to take a look at your site’s logs, and also as mentioned before, please send us the screenshot of your tax settings page.

    To find the generated logs:

    1. Go to WooCommerce > Status > Logs
    2. In the top right corner, open the drop-down and select the latest fatal error log that you need, then click view to load it. Here’s what that looks like:

    Thank you for the screenshots and status reports.

    I understand that you have now manually setup the taxes for your site and it is working fine.

    Since you’ve disabled automatic tax calculations on your site, we can no longer test it. It sounds like a staging site would be a good idea. If your host doesn’t offer that option, we recommend WP Staging for quickly spinning up a new test site.

    Once you have the staging site, make sure your tax is setup as an automated tax share with us the URL of the site.

    no, i want automated taxes.
    I used the manual entry so i did not wait around doing nothing for a week while trying to get support.
    i have not disabled auto calculation.

    come on……. this is getting laughable now.
    the manual rates have only been applied to standard rates.
    I will take this to mean nobody has a clue what is going on.

    I’m sorry for the misunderstanding here. Since I didn’t see the Automated tax option in your tax settings, I thought you’ve disabled it. It should display like this and you are not seeing the option to even enabled or disable the automated taxes:

    Usually, isolated behavior like what you describe and which has not displayed during our cross-testing can be related to code with another plugin or a theme that is causing a potential conflict of some kind.

    The best way to determine this is to:

    • Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • Repeat the action that is causing the problem

    If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

    ive rebuilt everything from scratch, still doesn’t work.
    wasted weeks on this.
    i’ll keep an eye out for a system that actually works.
    please find an alternative to jetpack.
