Hi,
Thanks for your message. Since this question is related to your Pro account, we kindly ask you to use the contact form on our website if you can’t open a ticket for the moment. This way we can also check why you are not allowed to access the Support Board with the account you are using.
Ref the issue you are having: changes of seasons should not impact the availability at “room-level”, multiple seasons can also overlap certain stay dates, but if by “change of season” you mean a change of what rate plans are closed or open, then yes, this can impact on the availability at rate-plan level.
I believe what’s happening in your case is that the stay dates you selected do not have at least one rate-plan which is available for all dates.
Right now you are probably opening and closing certain rate plans on some dates of the year, but please notice that rate plans should reflect your cancellation policies (like “Standard Rate” and “Non-Refundable Rate”) or the type of stay (like “B&B Only”, “Half-Board”, “Full-Board”). The rate plans should not reflect a season like “High Season”, “Summer Season” or “Low Season”, as guests are not necessarily supposed to be informed of your seasonal pricing, you could do this elsewhere, but not through the rate plans (“Types of Price” in Vik Booking).
That said, you probably have misconfigured your rate plans in the system, because with your current configuration you need to close or open certain rate plans on some dates. This causes that overlapping dates between different “seasonal pricing rules” do not have one same rate plan available for all nights, hence booking is not possible on those dates.
You should rather adopt a regular configuration of the types of price in Vik Booking like a “Standard Rate” rate plan and, optionally, a “Non-Refundable Rate” rate plan. Then you can manage your seasonal rates through the Special Prices, or by simply using the Pricing Calendar in the page Rates Overview. This way you will no longer need to close rate plans so often, unless you want or need to disable certain rate plans with more flexible cancellation policies on some high-demand dates.
We hope this helps! We also invite you to reach out to our team in any case for any other technical questions. Thank you!
Best regards,
The VikWP Team
