I have set up a website for our church’s Holiday Fair, which is going online this year because of COVID-19. I’m really impressed what this plugin can achieve!

So, we want to restrict payments to cash and checks only, on pickup. However, when I try out a test checkout on the website, it tells me:

“Sorry, it seems that there are no available payment methods for your state. Please contact us if you require assistance or wish to make alternate arrangements.”

I have seen several similar reports in this forum, most of which talk about details of payment gateways. But it’s not clear to me that we need a payment gateway for just cash or check, or if we do, what that might be.

What can I do to overcome this problem?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

    Hi @bryanhiggs,

This is because even if you want to accept payments via Cash and Check, you’d need to enable these “payment gateways” from WooCommerce payment settings.

You can enable check payment as per the steps here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/cheque/

And you can enable cash payments as per the steps here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/cash-on-delivery/ (you can rename it to “Cash”)

Do let us know if you have any further queries.

    Thank you.

I had, in fact, turned on the “Cash on Delivery” ‘gateway’, with apparently no positive effect.

I went in and turned on the Checking ‘gateway’, and that seems to have fixed the problem, but it is as if the checking option is the only one available. Since we are allowing either cash or check on pickup, I just changed the text to indicate that.

But I’d like to understand why my turning on ‘Cash on Delivery’ didn’t seem to do anything.

It is odd that the Cash on Delivery method was enabled but still not showing on the site. I checked this on my end, and the Cash on Delivery method shows as expected. Here’s a screenshot: https://d.pr/i/J3GOGL

I wonder if any of the installed plugins on the site is conflicting with Cash on Delivery. If the issue persists, then could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status.
Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.? Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response. That will help us understand your site setup better.

Do let us know so we can help further.
