    Hi,
I successfully installed the plugin and converted all images to two formats: webp and avif. I did not change anything in the settings of the plugin, I left it as it was after installation. I cleared the site cache.

Unfortunately, in the developer tools, in the “network” tab, I see that the site returns files to the browser in webp format. I would prefer avif format – how to change this?

    Hello @siutek

CompressX uses rewrite rules to automatically load AVIF or WebP formats. When there are both AVIF and WebP formats, AVIF will be loaded first. WebP will be loaded only when there are no AVIF formats.

So in your case, possible causes are:

    1. The converted AVIF images were larger than the original images, so they have been deleted automatically. You can find and disable the option ‘Automatic removal of files in output formats larger than the original ones’ in the plugin settings.

    2. Website cache or CDN. You can check whether there are AVIF versions of these images in the /wp-content/compressx-nextgen directory of the site.

    All the best,
