While doing backup it appears to be coping/looping but when done does not come on screen saying Backup Successful and give me that nice link to the backup I have seen before, and as I saw in your instructional video. I have the following installed as well WP Super Cache. Could there be a conflict with this? Have had Hyper Cache before.
Also, I have a code 503 maintenance screen on while I work on a few things, would it be responsible?

  • blank white screen instead of the backup successful screen? did you try using the ‘alternate zip method’ which can be accessed by clicking on the ‘advanced settings’ link at the very bottom of the dashboard page?

Oh yes, that advanced setting way down there. I tried with both the zip and the wpdb and no luck. I have managed to do one in the past and it works so I know what the link looks like. I think it may have something to do with the way I configured WP Super Cache. It is a great plugin but have read it has issues with some plugins. (I will have to spend some time tweaking it.) My 503 maintenance screen is deactivated.

perhaps the server is under heavy load,or the final size of the zip file is quite large,or most likely both. we’re planning on adding an option to exclude the ‘wp-content/uploads/’ directory from the backup to reduce the file size, but till then, there’s nothing much you could do apart from temporarily moving large files (such as backups) out from the ‘wp-content’ directory.
