  • Thank you. I was not aware that I still referenced the check ip box.

    The current versions (and 6.13 available on my website) check the validity of the IP in order to determine if it is safe to check the IP. The check IP functionality is no longer needed and the code was removed from the program.

    I will try to delete any reference to it.

    Great thanks for the response. Although clearly hindered is there still benefit to having the plugin active when it’s not getting the IP?

    The plugin checks for bbcodes, spamwords, long or short names and emails and subject lines. It checks user agents, accept headers and referrer strings. There is a check for disposable email addresses. It checks for session speed to see if the user responded too quickly.

    There’s lots of things that you can do without an IP. I check for all the non-ip things first, and then if the user passes, check for a valid IP. If the IP is valid, I continue on with the IP checks.
