Until recent changes the first choice in properties was “disabled” – now I do not see that possibility anymore.
In multisite setups that setting is useful in specific situations. Is it possible to bring it back?

    Hi,

The option was introduced with the GA4 support, the only reason of the option was allow users to switch off GA3. It was removed with the GA3 support drop.

Can you detail a bit your usage case? I want to better understand it in consideration of bringing it back.

PS: If you want for example to disable a widget on frontend/backend or the tracking code these options are already available within Backend/Frontend/Tracking sections.

Hi Alin, in the first fase of a project it starts as a subdomain on a MU install. It is then more logical to have it disabled. Also since it was the first option it was easy to start of by setting that option since in the list of properties can be hard to find the right one quickly as they are not alphabetical sorted in the dropdown.
When I need to reconnect – which happened very often – now all projects which are new or exist as archives all get assigned the first GA4 that the plugin finds. (which is never accurate :-))
ps. it looks like after recent updates the connection is lost less often.

Hi and thanks for the feedback.

It makes sense on MU installs. I’ve added it to the enhancement list on GitHub. I will drive some tests and if everything goes smoothly it will be included on a future release.

Super… it’s not drastic but having that choice will make my life a tiny bit easier.
Is there some way in which you can sort the list of properties you get from Google or Is it impossible to influence those data? Again not essential but it would make the plugin even better.

Nb. With the last update I had to re-authorize the plugin on 14 out of 15 sites. (just for your information)

Thanks for looking into these things!

From now on, an error on a website won’t invalidate the others. Let’s see how it goes. Keep me updated about it. We fixed a bug on latest release. Actually wasn’t a bug was a lack of documentation on Google API which generated the issues.

    Hi again,

I though about sorting the drop-down webstreams list and the fact that other users will preffer it as it is grouped by account. The best solution I could think of is to have the list searchable, making things easier for everyone. This feature is already available on latest release, check it out!

Thanks for looking into this Alin!

Although alphabetical seems the most logic for me personally having the search makes things a lot easier. So thanks for adding that option ??
And yes, I checked it already.

ps. At the moment it looks like I have to re-authorize less frequent after update. So another thing I am happy about.

About that, one thing on oauth2 non-standard and undocumented by Google was the cause. After months on of testing and always focusing on a possible plugin issue it turned out to be a few lines of code causing the mess, which were inline with Google’s documentation and practice.

My fault for not looking into it and taken it as it is, without questioning the standards nor documentation.

Respect for continuing to search for the solution! My customers are still very happy with your plugin so great that you kept the faith!
