    Hey, it’s alright! It’s working!
    If the “Mark posts as read only after opening” option is enabled, it works only for those posts which have excerpts (the “read more” link). It’s a feature. Try making a post with excerpt.

    There is one question left though: is the plugin working on your primary site, or still it isn’t? I ask this just in case, because I see that the topic is still not resolved.

    Hi, I have uninstalled the plugin and reinstalled in on the pre-production site and it is working which is great (this is a close replica of the production site) … I will be moving it to the production site in the coming weeks with a few more updates

    If I come across anything else when I make the move I will come back to you ??
