    Me again,

I created a custom post type (via own plugin). So far everything is ok.

As soon as I map a cf7 form to post into this specific post type, though the data is posted into this post type, my post type settings are partly overwritten. For example the labels in the menu are overwritten with the english defaults, while they originally were set in German by the plugin.

    Any idea?

Also, when I delete my plugin and thus should have the post type deleted, the post type (with its english menu names) is still there with all the posts but without the taxonomies.

So some weird thing happens when posting into this existing post type. And MAYBE this also causes the problem with the not taxonomy malfunction?

I might have trouble to find the correct settings to have Post My CF7 to post INTO MY EXISTING Post type? I do name the post type correctly when mapping! Still there seems to be some conflict or something that causes PostMyCF7 to interfere with my custom post type settings…

I have created my plugin again anew from scatch. Two times. I cant find any errors in my creation of the post type. I really need to have the problem solved but I have no idea, where to look for the problem?

    Thank you for your help!

    Best regards

the only way it would be overwritten is if you are using the ‘Custom Post Type’ mapping option instead of the ‘Existing Post’. Custom Post Type mapping is used when you want the plugin to create the post type for you.

I do name the post type correctly when mapping!

if you select mapping to an ‘Existing Post type’ then there is no naming required!

*** EDIT: Got it — deleted all forms with this mapping and gone it is ?? ***

    Hi Aurovrata!

Oh gosh I thought there must be something wrong with my settings. Thank you very much for your hint!

I re-activated the plugin, but now I still have the doubled post type in the admin menu. Any hint on how to delete this post type that the plugin created? I deleted the posts already, but the post type still gets reactivated when re-activating the plugin.

    Thank you very much!

    Best regards

you need to delete the mapping itself. As along as you have a form mapped to the custom post, the plugin will show the custom post menu in the dashboard.
