No comment box is showing

    In Admin > Settings > Discussion, did you check ‘Allow people to post comments on new articles’? More importantly, on the post edit page, are comments still allowed? (You can check this in ‘quick edit’ mode as well.

    If you’re using the default WP comment system and have checked the above, you should check with the theme author about the add-comment form not displaying.

    Edit: Does it work when using a default WP theme such as Twenty Fifteen?

    @bill it’s not showing in the default theme too

    So, if new posts are OK, can you go to Posts > All Posts > Quick Edit and select ‘allow comments’ in the right column?
