    I’m using the Shift theme because I want something simple and it is full of clutter about comments. I don’t want to use the WP comments function at all. Even when I use a comments-disabling plugin, i still get at the bottom of the post template

    I don’t want any mention of comments at all, no comments heading, no comments space, no comments box, no comments count, no mention of comments being closed, no comments at all.

    i have tried editing the comments.php and comments-link.php, but no luck. Is there any way to get just have no comments function at all?

    Hi William,

    Thanks for trying Shift!

    In the Customizer (Appearance > Customize), click on the Display Controls section and there you can hide the comments link that shows in the byline (screenshot). Next, install the Disable Comments plugin and use the “Everywhere” option to turn off comments globally.

    Once complete, there will be no mention of comments on the site.
