The same thing every time: When a new update for Bookly Pro (add-on) is available and it has not yet been executed, the frontend user will not receive any confirmation of his booking. There is also no automatic update function for the Pro addon. I’ve reported the problem to Bookly support a few times, but have never received a satisfactory answer. The Plugin is not reliable in this condition!! If the admin is not logged in to the CMS 24/07 hours, many customers may have problems with the booking.

Bookly support wasn’t much help, despite multiple support requests and a few explanatory emails, their only solution was: Install a third-party plugin to replace the plugins wp-autoupdate that isn’t available by default, or at least can’t be activated all the time (can only be activated if a new plugin update is currently available).

The support team tries hard but is actually quite incompetent to solve the issue.

I will think carefully about whether I use the plugin again for professional purposes, it took more effort than is to be expected from a premium plugin.

We understand your concern regarding plugin updates.

Our recommendations were based on the fact that standard updating process is handled by WordPress. Typically, it’s the responsibility of website owners to ensure that installed plugins are kept updated or to adopt another convenient updating strategy.

We advised disabling the auto-update option for the free Bookly version to prevent situations where the core plugin is updated while all other Bookly items (add-ons) remain on previous versions. This approach aligns with the updating systems of other popular WordPress plugins.

However, we’ve forwarded your concern to the Product team for further review. We’ll explore possible solutions that enable all available Bookly updates to be performed automatically.
