No confirmation on form but email is sent

When someone submits a form, the arrow spins for a few seconds, then stops and nothing changes, there is no confirmation so it looks as though it was not sent, but the forms are going through and I am getting the emails. This is causing customers to hit the submit form multiple times resulting in multiple emails.
