• I cannot get anything to show up on my product pages. Shop page is fine. But clicking View for any individual product from the dashboard Products I get only a header and a footer, no content. Here is the link to a product:
    drevenstedt.com/online-store/new-everything-disc-staff-workplace-profile/
    Custom theme developer pointed to problem is not with theme, said to save permalinks, which I did, no change. Help please. Thanks.

  • Have a look at Admin page > WooCommerce > System Status: Template overrides (towards the bottom of the page). Are there any? You are trying to find out if the Shop and Product pages are using WooCommerce templates or theme templates.

    No, no overrides. Thanks anyway though.

    Try deactivating all other plugins to be able to rule out any conflcit.

    Ok just tried that, also no. My theory is it is the theme, just not sure what to edit since I didn’t make the theme.

    Try the default theme, or Storefront. Does it work now?

    For fear of messing up the widgets, I decided to import the custom theme to one of my test WordPress sites. WooCommerce was working with the theme I had picked. I activated the custom theme that I just I imported and – missing product content. It has to be the custom theme. I am going to let the developer know. Thoughts? And thank you for your suggestions.

    I’d go for a temporary switch to the default theme. That’s unlikely to affect any widgets. They may not display properly in the default theme but will be OK when you activate your custom theme.

    So, with other plugins deactivated, if it works with the default theme the problem must be with the custom theme.

    Other things you can do are to look in the file system for files called error_log. These are plain text files and may hold a clue. Also in wp-config.php, set:

    define('WP_DEBUG', true);

    and see if any errors are exposed.

    You should not have to debug with a developer on board but as he/she is not being helpful…

    OK I tried one last thing – one of the suggestions from WooCommerce had me adding a woocommerce.php file to the custom template directory. This solved a styling problem but apparently created the problem of not having content on single product pages. Disabled it and now single products display. Now to figure out the extra sidebar I have no idea where it is coming from – but that will be another topic…
