• Hi, I am after a quick fix if possible.

Installed 1.5 on a site and ran upgrade.php.

All works fine in admin etc and shows a list of themes that I added in there.

However, none of the css in the themes work. The formatting will change to correspond with different theme layouts but the colours etc are all plain white with blue writing – the highly attractive NO CSS look.

I tried doing a bit of a search in here and found a few problems that were similar but no real answers.

Any ideas would be much appreciated ??

And no – it isn’t my site – so no point clicking on my name…

Well, the first thing I’d ask is if your siteurl and home values were correct. You didn’t give a URL, so I can’t check that. But, you know the drill, Podz always has the right tutorial for the job. https://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/site-url/

    Thanks Macmanx.

It’s one of these long drawn out exercises where you help someone and each step is a 4 hour wait between emails etc…

    Good luck! Patience is key.

So, it took a while but yes the siteurl and home values are as they should be so does anyone have any other ideas as to what it might be?

Is the theme structure as it should be? /blog files/wp-content/themes/theme name/theme files ? And, is the stylesheet not working on all themes (including default and classic) or just this one?

It’s quite strange to be honest. I can change the themes and the layout structure changes when I do, but no colours or designs.

The site is here btw – it’s not mine , I am just trying to help out.

    @macmanx
Yes It’s all where it should be and it happens with classic and the WP default themes too.

Load the css, and it redirects.
Find and kill whatever is doing it ??

    Hi Podz,

Any idea where and what I am looking for. If it is happening to all themes then it must be in the root?

I would look in root for either a javascript or htaccess redirect.
If in doubt, rename everything possibly dodgy there until it works ?

    (@macmanx)

The CSS is redirecting back to the root domain (which is forbidden). Try deleting .htaccess.

That’s the problem. There is no .htaccess or any javascripts. I did a clean install so only the base WP files are in there plus a list of themes.

Iam a bit stumped to be honest [and that is frustrating me immensely].

Nothing at site / domain root ?

Found a .htaccess file in root of domain with nothing in it…but deleted it just to make sure and still no change.

I keep hearing music – like the Twilight Zone theme ??

The code is in index – I tried looking for a robots.txt and got a redirect to the site index (from the site index)

Tried downloading the index.html / .php . htm .whatever to your machine and opening it up there ?

    (@shadow)

Well, took the whole index page out of the root altogether and still the same, so put it back.

Is there anthing else in phpmyadmin I should look for ?
