    Hello! How do I disable PayPal or any kind of real transaction (and change the currency to “Gold”)? I am building around an auction system on an online game where people can bid on our website and do their trades inside the game instead. No money involved. Thanks!

    If we could get help on this, we might be considering on purchasing the Pro version so we could allow our users to add their own auctions.

    Hi,

    Your preference is pretty strange. I’m attempting to provide a perspective but if it does not answer your queries do let me know.

    Regarding Paypal disabling:
    ==============================
    If you want to remove paypal, then dont enter any paypal address. For its substitute you can use wire transfer/Mailing address option. Those are just names so you can very well change their names to anything that suits you. On the functionality side of wire transfer/mailing address, plugin sends email populating values entered in wire transfer/mailing address field to last bidder when auction closes.

    Regarding currency change
    ==========================
    You can add your own currency by doing below:

    1. In ‘settings-page.php’ file, there is an array ‘$currencies’ in the function wdm_currency_field(). You can add more comma separated currencies in that array.

    2. The format should be same as it is for existing currencies. E.g ‘U.S. Dollar – USD’. I think this much change should be enough.

    Hope it helps.

    Cheers,
    Nitesh

    Thanks for the reply Nitesh! Sorry about that.

    Is it possible to remove all real-money transactions – PayPal, wire transfer, mailing address, etc. All kinds of real-money transactions. I just want the plugin to be able to do auctions without the money part.

    Example:
    User A puts up an auction with currency – Gold.
    User B places a bid.
    After X time, User B wins the auction.
    User A gets notified.
    User A and B do their trades inside the game (not in the website).

    As simple as that. Just a way for people to be able to bid.

    My website is about an online game where users can add their own auctions (using the Pro version) and other users can bid on it using the currency “Gold” which is used in the online game. I just want them to have a way to bid on game items without involving money but only a virtual money in the game called “Gold”.

    I would love to give an image example but I am getting this fatal error:
    Fatal error: Cannot redeclare upgrade_all() (previously declared in /home/dnpugcom/public_html/wp-admin/includes/upgrade.php:331) in /home/dnpugcom/public_html/wp-admin/includes/upgrade.php on line 411.

    Please ignore the last part. I got it to work.

    But yeah, just the option to disable the whole payment system. We just need the ability for users to place and bid on auctions and get notified and that’s it. No transactions, no money involved. Just plain bidding.

    We want to help players by giving them a way to put up items and bid on them. The final transaction will happen inside the game so there is no point in using the money, PayPal, bank, etc.

    It’s similar to gaming auction websites like basilmarket.com and other World of Warcraft auction houses.

    Here is a screenshot from BasilMarket.com: https://puu.sh/5a89j.png
    It is using a virtual currency called “mesos”. Players bid in the website and do their final trades inside the game and that’s it.

    You guys have the almost-perfect auction plugin right here but it would be nice to have maybe the option to disable real-money transactions or just have a way to use virtual currencies.

    Thanks!

    Can I get an answer for this? These are the only issues that are stopping us from purchasing the Pro version. Thanks!

    Hi,

    Since this is a kind of custom request, I need to discuss the viability of it.
    Could you please contact me at nitesh[at]auctionplugin.net? Just say hi, as I already have your query, I’ll reply back there.
