• I’m experiencing intermittent connection problems to my site. Chrome loads a “no data received page” when this happens. Similar issues occur with IE and Firefox. Hosting service says there’s no problem, ISP can’t find anything wrong, and I’m experiencing this on my home PC and my Chromebook (on various networks). I’ve tried deleting cache, browsing history, cookies, etc. I also deactivated firewalls, virus protection software, and wordpress plugins with no success. This has been happening intermittently for about a week.

  • Can you post a link to your site that experiences the problem?

Thank you for the response. I’d prefer not to share my site in this forum. Is there a way to troubleshoot anyway? I see there’s another person in the forum with the identical problem (same thread title) that just started having these problems too. I know this has been an issue with WordPress.com users, too, but I don’t know how similar their software is. I haven’t had a chance to upgrade to version 3.6 because I want to backup files first, but perhaps there are some fixes in the updated software?

Such problems that occur intermittently are usually caused by server problems.

Yeah, there are no server issues. I’ve had multiple discussions with techs at the hosting service about this.

This is not a WordPress issue, per se. It’s specific to your site.

How do you know that? Other people have the same issue.

    How do you know that?

Um – ten years of working with WordPress? For a start, “no data received page” is not a WordPress error message. It’s a browser message that is displayed when there are problems communicating with the remote web server.

Wow, 10 years! How about that! So fancy. Yes, I know there are problems communicating with the remote server. I’ve gone through the troubleshooting steps with my ISP and my hosting service. Nobody seems to have an answer for this person either:

If WordPress itself really had that kind of major issue, these forums would be over-run with people complaining of the same issue. Right now, that isn’t the case – which again suggests a hosting/server issue. Ditto the fact that this is intermittent.

WordPress.com has many of these complaints that have appeared recently. I’m not sure if the .com sites and this CMS have anything in common, but it’s interesting these problems have occurred over the last week or so. People use other browsers, too, so pages not loading may not show “no data received.” There was a recent update to WordPress, too. Could that have something to do with recent problems? I know you’re convinced that it’s a server or hosting issue, but I have explored both repeatedly and there are no issues.

Did you read the link about that WP.COM issue?

    https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/recent-problems-accessing-wordpresscom-sites

It has NOTHING to do with your site.

Could that have something to do with recent problems?

No. This is specific to your site/hosts/server.

I have been getting this message for quite sometime :
“Error message – No data received…server sent no data”
My site is hosted in Go Daddy and I contacted them but they said they had no issues with their server as the website is running smooth.
But whenever I try to post something or try to update the posts I get this error message. Please help me solve this issue.
