    I just found the update under tools but I don’t know if it’s actually downloaded. When I looked just now I saw it only blocked 1 person since installing (it should have blocked thousands)

    Hi,

    It will try to download the databases by itself. But if your hosting company blocks outgoing HTTP traffic this will fail. Also it is possible that the server is temp blocked by MaxMind as there are too many downloads from that IP address already.

    If it fails it will supply you the address where you can download the files from and where to place them via for instance FTP.
