No descriptio after all upgrdes

Hi again, i tried to see if there is any differences between old galleries which i made a couple of months ago and the most recent ones:
there was no differences in the parameters. But the olders would show the captions the newers don’t.
I tried also to make a galley with the files i used for the older galleries but now there is no description.
The funny thing is that i decided to choose ngg becouse its capcity to retain the captions …please help
do you hae the same problem?

Hi again, the problem i see starts when i upload the foto to the gallery. the description disappear.

Ok, if i put an image on wp, the info (caption, description) it will be retained.
So is next gen gallery the problem.
I finally manage to have the caption shown in ngg but only if i uncheck
the resize button, which doesn’t make very user friendly.

nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/ngglegacy/lib/meta.php has a mistake at line 124 preventing the metadata import

patch as follow:

from
$exif = isset($this->exif_array[‘EXIF’]) ? $this->exif_array[‘EXIF’] : array();

to
$exif = isset($this->exif_data[‘EXIF’]) ? $this->exif_data[‘EXIF’] : array();

@angelosarto – Using the automatic re-sizing will remove captions currently. The issue as noted with regards to EXIF data has been re-patched into our development version and is expected to be in the next public release as well.

PS: We make every effort to address every topic, “bumping” is not necessary nor generally accepted in these forums.

The thing is that i bought this plugin becouse it’d retain iptc data,
now it’s not working and prctically useless to my needs.
Is this issue What CyberPK found out?
If yes where should apply the patche he discovered?
Is going to be more than 8 months like in the CyberPK issue the time i’d Have wait to be Fixed?
Could i use the development version in the meanwhile at my own risk?
Sorry for the many questions but i have to decide whether going on with this plugin or look for something else.

Bumping is something that might not be necessary or accepted (like money), but after more than 48 hrs a simple signal like: “Hi we saw your problem.. we are very busy at the moment.. we will be at you at soon as possible…or similar” is what i’d expect from a big company like yours.

As to the response time, we currently review the forum topics Monday, Wednesday, and Friday usually during the morning hours (GMT-5) but as a subscriber you would have much quicker access.

As to the modification suggested above, you are more than welcome to make that change but it has not been committed to any public branch of NextGEN Gallery for you to work with yet.
