Try disabling plugins to find whether any are responsible for this issue.

Im using appearance > menus from within wordpress. no other plugins are responsible at this point….because there are none except akismet.

When I save that I’ve created, the menu order changes to the page order and my submenu items that I’ve set up disappear. In pages, I’ve got the following

    page 1
    page 2
    page 3
    ….sub-page1
    ….sub-page2
    page 4

In menus AFTER a save, even though I’ve set it up to look like the above it comes out like this:

    page 1
    page 2
    page 3
    sub-page1
    sub-page2
    page 4

If you create a custom menu, does the problem persist?

I have similar problem, except the top level items appear, but no sub-headers.
I tried disabling all my plug-ins, but no luck.
    Any ideas much appreciated.

    Kitty Blake,

As you’re not contributing to the original poster, you should create your own thread.

    @magicmiles:
Have you tried to set your menu as the primary navigation from Appearance-> Menus? Worked for me.

    Pluguns!

None of my drop downs would work – even in the dashboard – something I had been experimenting has installed a number of plugins – deactivated these and Menus & slider were restored!

No Menus – check your plugins!
